Type: realistic
Personal Reflection:
As I saw the cover and the title, I was surprised that the daddy brought the three kids to go on a bear hunt. I had no idea how they did it, and whether they would achieve it safe and sound or not. It was interesting for me, and I just wanted to keep reading it for seeing what they would do. As expected, they encountered the difficulties, but they still kept going on. Every time they said they couldn’t go over it, next page they would have already gone through it. It was similar to every person. When we want to do something, we are always afraid to do it first. However, we also finish the work finally like those main characters. The onomatopoeia was my favorite parts in this book. When I read, I can’t help but declaiming them. It seemed that I really in that situation. For example, when I read “Swishy swashy,” I could imagine that I was going through long wavy grass. This book caught my attention deeply. Fantastic!
Analysis:
The color was used well in every situation. When they faced the difficulties every time, the color would be black and white. It represented that it was a tough time to solve another problem. However, the color picture was always waiting for us in the next page. It represented that they overcame those obstacles and found more beautiful scenery. The color was warm and vividly. I could feel the lifelike atmosphere in this picture book. Besides, every picture was minute, fine and delicate. I felt the lines are smooth and realistic. For example, the grass was real enough. Finally, the sentences are suitable for children to read. Every sentence is repeated again and again and only changed something. It can help children to practice speaking and enhance the ability of imagination.
